Welcome to the Flyover Foodie. I’m just a hungry girl living in a small town in the middle of flyover country. This blog started as my 30th birthday looms on the horizon, threatening me with much seriousness and adulthood. (insert serious face here). I’m a pretty decent home cook, but what I’m really good at is eating. And I like to talk about it.
We’ll talk about recipes and the lessons of a home cook, like tackling deboning and hollandaise sauce. But we’ll also talk about great ingredients, delicious flavors, and the joy of eating in the Midwest.
Have suggestions? Want me to try a local flavor? A great Midwestern brand I should try? Let me know!

Just saw the article in the Register this morning. How nice for you!!! I can’t wait to have some time to read your entries. I also love to cook. I see you have turducken on your list. I had a year where I did 4 of them. So time consuming but boy are they tasty!!
I think you site is lovely and I like your sense of humor.
